Aurora Aksnes is an Norwegian singer and songwriter from Norway. She was born in Stavanger in June 1996 and professionally known as Aurora. The name of her can also be stylized in the form of AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves by Decca Records was released on May 15, 2015, and received great reviews from both music bloggers as well as the press. Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was discovering a piano at her loft, where she was captivated by its music. Jan Oystein Aksnes and May-Britt Aksnes encouraged Aurora to study music not to get the purpose of a career or as just a pastime, but as a way to improve. In order to do so she began to write original compositions. She cites renowned songwriters Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan in her influences, along with a love for Bjork's style. Her mom encouraged her to sing her songs in public, not for the sake of trying to be famous, but to assist others in understanding how valuable they are and what they can bring to the world. The piano was her first instrument at the age of six, and began writing music at age nine. She didn't tell her family about it until the age of fourteen. Aurora was not a dream of her childhood. The actress claims that she likes writing songs. To her, music is the best method to express anything.
